God name "Sopedu" | Egypt | Guardian deity. A god who protects the eastern border, usually depicted as a falcon or a Bedouin with a headdress of tall plumes. His cult was followed chiefly at Saft el-Henna in the Nile delta. Sopedu is linked in Pyramid Texts with the hawk god HORUS.
